Intricately woven with weft ikat technique into this fabric's background are the "matsu" (pine tree), "kiku" (chrysanthemum) and "ume" (Japanese plum) patterns. A subtle heathering effect of the technique, creating a deep, blackish green, reinterpreted as formal bow tie.
