Sashiko Red and White Tie
Sashiko Red and White Tie
100% Silk
Sashiko's (刺し子) translation, “little stabs,” is a reflection of the technique on this tie, creating this design with one stitch and thread at a time. A form of hand-stitched embroidery technique, it was mainly used to reinforce fabric for utilitarian and ornamentation purposes. Today, it has evolved into intricate embroidering of garments and even applied to corners of Japanese wrapping cloths called Furoshiki, to make them sturdier. Sashiko patterns typically originate from traditional Japanese and Chinese motifs appearing in nature and folklore.
Crafted in single limited batches, each tie is entirely hand-sewn. This kimono fabric is exceptional plus a design that is simple yet rich. Also available as a Bow Tie and Pocket Square.
